Privacy notice
Who we are
The controller is Will Percey, a sole trader in the UK trading as Moonlight Software. On Offer is a Moonlight Software product.
On Offer, at on-offer.co.uk, lists current deals from UK retailers in one place. There are no accounts, logins, sign-ups or contact forms on this site, and you cannot buy anything here: you buy from the retailer.
You can contact us at [email protected] or write to us at Devenish Grange, Devenish Lane, Ascot, SL5 9QU, United Kingdom.
What happens without analytics consent
Our web host and servers process standard request data, such as your IP address, to deliver the site and to protect it from too many requests.
When you search, the words you type are sent to our server to find matching deals. They are not linked to you.
When you click through to a retailer from a deal page, your browser tells our server to add one to that deal’s click count. Nothing that identifies you is stored with the count.
Product images are loaded from retailers’ own image servers, which receive standard request data, such as your IP address, when your browser fetches them.
Links to retailers
Deals link to the retailer’s own website. When you follow one, you leave On Offer and the retailer’s privacy policy applies.
Some links may be affiliate links, which can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. When you follow an affiliate link, the affiliate network and the retailer may use cookies or similar technology to record that you came from On Offer. Their own privacy policies apply to that.
Optional analytics
We use optional Google Analytics 4, provided by Google. Nothing from Google loads until you accept. No request is sent to Google and no Google cookie is set before you accept.
If you accept, Google receives usage information: the type of page you view and, when you click through to a deal, the name of the retailer. It also receives your browser, operating system, screen size, language and IP address. Google may use your IP address to work out your approximate location.
Page addresses sent to Google are reduced to the type of page, such as a product page or a department. Product names, search words, filters, referrers and campaign tags are never sent, and neither is the address of the retailer page you go to.
Advertising storage, ad personalisation and Google Signals are off. Enhanced measurement is off.
Read Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Cookies and local storage
If you accept analytics, Google sets _ga analytics cookies.
We save your analytics choice in your browser's local storage. This storage is strictly necessary to remember your choice. The choice is saved for 180 days, then we ask again.
You can change your choice at any time using the 'Analytics preferences' control at the bottom of every page. Closing the consent card counts as rejecting analytics.
Withdrawing consent stops analytics immediately and removes the _ga cookies. Accepting again starts analytics on the next page load.
How long data is kept
Google Analytics event and user data retention is two months.
Your analytics choice is saved in your browser's local storage for 180 days. We then ask again.
Data transfers outside the UK
Google may process data outside the UK under its published data transfer frameworks.
Your rights
You have rights under the UK GDPR, including access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction and portability. To make a request, contact us at [email protected] or write to us at Devenish Grange, Devenish Lane, Ascot, SL5 9QU, United Kingdom.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice if the site or our use of analytics changes. We will publish any changes on this page.
